Speeding Bullets: Tuesday, May 18, 2010

from the Comic Hero News staff
There’s a lot that happens in the world of superheroes everyday, and we at Comic Hero News don’t have the ability to write up a full story about everything, as much as we’d like to. So, we bring you Speeding Bullets – for all of those pieces of news that are fired our way that are worth noticing, but don’t merit a full story in their own right.

  • Green Ronin has released Caper #3 “Deadly Day of the Dread Destructus” for Mutants & Masterminds. The “capers” are short, stand-alone adventures, and tend to be a lot of fun. This particular caper is designed to be run using the Silver Age sourcebook, but could probably be easily adapted to a different era.
  • Norman Osborn is revealed as one of the villains in the Noir universe of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, as seen in this photo from ComicsAlliance.
  • Vincenzo Natali’s hopes to direct a film based on the Alan Moore version of Swamp Thing may be on the perpetual back burner, but the Splice director has other superhero films in mind. “I’ll put this out there… maybe Alpha Flight,” he told MTV’s Splashpage.
  • Are you one of the fans of Heroes who is terribly disappointed we won’t get a fifth season, especially with the horrid tease that Season 4 ended on? Well, while I wouldn’t hold my breath, Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider tells us that NBC and Tim Kring are potentially considering a “TV-movie” or other “mini-event” that will wrap up the story.
  • In one of the cooler, geektastic things I’ve seen, Chris Sims at Comics Alliance has put together the Superhero Periodic Table of the Elements. It’s a thing of beauty. Check it out below, and click on the image to enlarge.
  • Finishing out the bio-comics from Bluewater Productions for the Twilight kids, MTV’s Splashpage tells us that Taylor Lautner will be getting his own issue of the Fame imprint.
  • NBC has released the trailer for their new superhero show The Cape. Check it out.
  • Response to the first trailer for Axel Braun’s Batman XXX: A Porn Parody was so high that Vivid Entertainment has released another (SFW) trailer to whet fan’s appetite.
