Speeding Bullets: Thursday, November 11, 2010

from the Comic Hero News staff
There’s a lot that happens in the world of superheroes everyday, and we at Comic Hero News don’t have the ability to write up a full story about everything, as much as we’d like to. So, we bring you Speeding Bullets – for all of those pieces of news that are fired our way that are worth noticing, but don’t merit a full story in their own right.

  • We’ve got a double dose of Spider-Man rumors for you. First up, What’sPlaying.com is telling us that the reboot film will include scenes where we get to meet Peter Parker’s parents, Richard and Mary.
  • Next up, ShowbizSpy tells us that not only will we see Betty Brant in Spider-Man, but that Zoey Deschanel may be up for the role of J. Jonah Jameson’s secretary.
  • The Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO has a new lease on life. According to IESB.net, LucasArts and Electronic Arts have agreed to a new publishing agreement, giving more control over marketing, publishing and distribution to EA.
  • Kurt Busiek was at the Mid-Ohio Con this past weekend, and while there, he spoke to Newsarama about the future of Astro City, assuring fans that it would continue to be published at DC, even after the death of the WildStorm imprint. He also dropped a few vague hints about the plans for a film adaptation.
  • Stan Lee has become well known for his cameos in Marvel films, and now the Marvel CEO Emeritus spoke to MTV’s Splashpage where he talked about how good Thor will be – despite the small size of his cameo role.
  • James Frain has made a name for himself playing villains, and next up he’ll be playing the supervillain Peter Fleming on NBC’s new original superhero drama The Cape, and Entertainment Weekly got the chance to talk to him about his character and the series.
  • Sean McKeever (Nomad, Young Allies, Gravity, Teen Titans) is bringing Onslaught back to the Marvel Universe, to face off against the Young Allies and the Secret Avengers, in a four-issue miniseries titled Onslaught Unleashed, and Comic Book Resources got the chance to ask McKeever a bit about the series.
  • Green Ronin’s Jon Leitheusser recently posted on MutantsAndMasterminds.com to give fans an update on the status of the Heroes & Villains book for DC Adventures.
