There’s a lot that happens in the world of superheroes everyday, and we at Comic Hero News don’t have the ability to write up a full story about everything, as much as we’d like to. So, we bring you Speeding Bullets – for all of those pieces of news that are fired our way that are worth noticing, but don’t merit a full story in their own right.

  • During the Long Beach Comic Con, Iron Man 3 director Shane Black discussed what to expect from the film with Comic Book Resources. He also talked about his ongoing plans for a Doc Savage adaptation.
  • Robert Kirkman, author of The Walking Dead comic series, spoke to MTV’s Splashpage to discuss his involvement with The Walking Dead TV series, and how it allows him to go all “George Lucas” on the series.
  • Via a press release (released at DC Universe: The Source among other places), DC/Warner Brothers have announced that they have extended their agreement with Mattel for toy-making rights.
  • DC Comics asked their followers to Tweet them pictures of themselves dressed as superheroes for Halloween. The full gallery is up at DC Universe: The Source, but here’s one of the most adorable.
  • In an interview with Access Hollywood, Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) discussed her role as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in The Avengers, and confirmed that there would be no romantic involvement between her and her boss, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).
  • Nicola Scott will be illustrating issues #3, 5 and 6 of Superman, according to the word from DC Universe: The Source.
  • Lan Medina takes over artistic duties for the symbiote super-soldier beginning with Venom #10, as was revealed over at Marvel.com.
  • Comic Book Resources has a preview look at Ultimate Spider-Man #4 while Marvel.com has a look at Uncanny X-Men #2.
  • Variety tells us that J.J. Abrams wants Benicio del Toro as the villain for Star Trek 2.
  • SuperHeroHype broke the news that Fox has hired Simon Kinberg to write the sequel to X-Men: First Class.
  • Deadline has footage from the set of The Dark Knight Rises showing Bane (Tom Hardy) and Batman (Christian Bale) at battle.
