There was some criticism of the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. It looked too much like a video game. There was too much of Peter moping. Not enough of a look at Spidey. Barely a hint about the Lizard.
Now, Sony has given us a new trailer, and it is fantastic.
We get to see Spidey making quips. Spider-Man versus the cops. The creation of the mechanical webshooters. And a direct connection between Spider-Man and Curt Connors becoming the Lizard.
I was in the skeptics camp for this film. But now? July can’t come fast enough.
The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Mark Webb and swings in to theatres July 3, 2012. Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone is Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans is Curt Connors/the Lizard. Also starring in the film are Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, and Dennis Leary as Captain Stacy.

OK I’m on board with the reboot now.
