Never Before Seen Lightsaber Construction Scene From Return of the Jedi

So, there was big news, coupled with big disappointment, out of this past weekend’s Star Wars Celebration V. George Lucas officially announced that the six Star Wars films would be getting the Blu-Ray treatment – although sadly he said that there are still no plans to bring the theatrical cuts of the film to the format. (Which means my VHS tapes stick around).

But what he announced will be included is almost enough to make up for it. For ages, fans have known that there was, in Return of the Jedi, a scene that existed where Luke Skywalker builds a new lightsaber to replace the one he lost (along with his hand!) at the climax of Empire Strikes Back. That scene is being restored for the Blu-Ray, and someone managed to get a copy of the scene taped and online.

See it while you can, this is almost certainly going to be taken down.
