More Character Banners Arrive For The Avengers

by Aaron Einhorn
Marvel Studios has given us another two banners for The Avengers. They aren’t significantly new, although they do feature the characters not hidden behind a giant letter “A”, and we see more of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow than just her rear end.

The first banner shows Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (with a green tint, suggesting his alter ego), Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The second banner shows us Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.

The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon, is set to open May 4, 2012. The Avengers finds Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. assembling the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to pull the Earth back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens the planet. The film stars Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Phil Coulson and Maria Hill, and Stellan Skarsgard as Dr. Selvig.
