If you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably at least briefly played the game on Facebook. Actually, if you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably played it enough to drive your spouse crazy, and to cause your boss to tell you “It’s just Pokemon with superheroes.”

In any case, I’ve found the game immensely addictive and fun. And as such, I’m thrilled with the news from about nine new characters who are being added to the game.

The new characters who will be added include Magick, Emma Frost, Rogue, Gambit, Beast, Tigra, Quicksilver, Havok and Valkyrie. A bit X-Men heavy for a game titled “Avengers Alliance” in my opinion, but still a fun initial line-up. It’ll be interesting to see what class they give each character. Some are obvious; Havok will almost certainly be a Blaster for instance, but others are a bit harder to guess.

In addition, there are new alternate costumes being added. All of the members of the Future Foundation (Reed, Sue, Ben and Spider-Man) will be getting their FF costumes as alternates – presumably with special abilities. Cyclops, Emma Frost and Colossus are each getting their Phoenix Five costumes, and Cyclops is also getting access to his classic 90′s costume. Daredevil will unlock his original brown and yellow costume, while Doctor Strange gets his alternate costume as well.

I like the pace they’ve been releasing new content for the game, and I can’t wait to see the new characters and costumes migrate into the game. Check out the character models below.
