How is it racist to not like Idris Alba to play Heimdall? You make the case that he is a good actor, who just happens to be African American. Yet I find it absolutely shocking that characters like Thor, The Warriors 3, Sif, Loki and Odin all clearly went far to appear as the characters they portray from the comics. Even making sure to cast an Asian actor as Hogun. Logically it seems clear that casting Idris was simply tokenism. This, I personally, find insulting as Idris is a good actor; which you yourself point out.

I am curious if characters like Luke Cage and T'Challa (Black Panther) were going to be played by white actors would you deem the black community/comic book fans(myself included) as "racist" if we were upset about it? I sincerely doubt it.

I personally hope that the film industry leaves their tokenism racist nonsense out of Black Panther's movie. If I see one white guy in Wakanda I am going to freak out! Though, luckily for Black Panther, tokenism really only swings in one racist direction.

William Dozier had originally wanted to make a big-screen film to generate interest in his proposed Batman TV series, to have the feature as the backdoor pilot film in theaters while the first season of the series was rolling before the cameras. The studio, 20th Century Fox, refused because while a network would have to cover the entire cost of a movie, they would only have to share the cost of a TV series (a much less risky proposition).[6] So it was not filmed until the end of the first season of Batman the TV series (between April 25 and May 31, 1966 at an estimated $1,377,800).

Portions of the film, including the sequence where Batman desperately tries to dispose of a live bomb, were filmed at waterfront locations in Santa Barbara, California.

Lee Meriwether who was Miss America in 1955 had stated in an interview that Julie Newmar had hurt her back and was unable to take on the Catwoman role.

In his autobiography, Adam West writes of his asking for more money to do the film and that the producers countered with the fact that another actor would be hired.

Batman was Reginald Denny's final appearance in film and Jack LaLanne has a cameo as a man on a roof top with girls.

A follow up film was at one point considered. The film would have been released between seasons two and three, and would have been used to introduce Barbara Gordon/Bat Girl, and make use of a Batplane. Due to waning interest in the series during season two, which resulted in budget cuts, plans for a second film were scratched.

It is the first ever theatrical feature film based on the DC Comics character Superman, although two live-action Superman films had already been shown in cinemas as a serial format.

The film was originally created by National Publishing (now DC Comics) as a "calling card" in their bid to bring Superman to television for the first time. Its theatrical release was originally planned only as a last resort to recoup the production budget if the networks passed on the project.

it's produced by Barney Sarecky and directed by Lee Sholem with the original screenplay by Richard Fielding (a pseudonym for Robert Maxwell and Whitney Ellsworth), it was shot in 12 days on a studio backlot. Fifty-eight minutes long, Over a year after this film's release, it served as a trial run for the syndicated TV series Adventures of Superman, for which it became a two-part episode titled "The Unknown People" where it was split up and used to make a "two-parter" to close the first season of Adventures of Superman.

As with many of the early episodes of the Adventures of Superman, the film is adult-themed, with a good deal of conflict and violence, or the threat thereof, and is played with total seriousness by all the actors; Reeves's Superman, in particular, is all business, displaying none of the humor that the character would develop over time in the TV series.

Originally Kirk Alyn was to be Superman after the two serials but wanted too much money.

According to director Lee Sholem, both Phyllis Coates and George Reeves were knocked cold on the same day in fights involving stuntmen.

The sympathetic view of the strangers in this film, and the unreasoning fear on the part of the citizenry, has been compared by author Gary Grossman to the panicked public reaction to the peaceful alien Klaatu in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was released the same year. Both films have been seen retrospectively as a product of (and a reaction to) the "Red Scare" of post-World War II. Grossman also cites a later film perhaps inspired by this one, called The Mole People.

Before the lovely Lynda Carter was closely identified with as the beautiful handsome superhero Wonder Woman, she was best known for being entered a local Arizona beauty contest which she won, and gained national attention in the United States by winning Miss World USA, representing Arizona. In the international 1972 Miss World pageant, representing the U.S., she reached the semi-finals. After taking acting classes at several New York acting schools, she began making appearances on such TV shows as Starsky and Hutch, Cos, and Nakia and in several B-movies.

Just know that at the beginning, after the opening credits and Jane Fonda's strip have finished, you can turn it off, Barbarella is clearly not a very good film, the film is utterly boring, the story is ridiculous even for a lousy fantasy space movie, the direction is flat, the acting is so awful and even the special effects are terrible, I would have love to know what the budget was for this, considering for the time at which this was made that it's based on what has been called the first adult comic book I found it to be uninteresting than enjoyable - even George Lucas can write better than this most baffling and frustrating eurotrash turkey movie I have ever seen.

Why don't you offer the Marvel t-shirts in a childs small? or even smaller? Our 4 year old son is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer and I worry that a child medium (5/6) will be too big on him!

I am very honored to be a big fan of Ms. Marvel, now known as Captain Mar-Vel.
In case you all may or may not know, back in the 1980s, Little Betsy Goodrich, was TV's Ms. Marvel, in which her heroic responsibilty included keeping the World Family Of Kree-Lar safe, Looking out for a 7 year old girl, who then finds out about the masked mystery girl, and of course, rescuing a handsome hunk and his niece from certain doom and of course, Spacepuppy, who loves the chase the vilains up the tree and keep them up there until the authorities get him down.

She even made appearances at Dragon Con, in which two episodes of The Ms. Marvel Show, were being filmed. The Episodes are: Dragon Con and The Warrior Settles Down.

I want to say thank you for reading this.
