It seems like lighting may still strike for Shazam!, the film adaptation for DC’s Captain Marvel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, former-actor-turned-screenwriter Billy Birch has been hired to reboot the script for the film. And he’ll be consulting with one of the most respected names in DC today – Geoff Johns.
Having gone through multiple writers by now, who knows if this will actually translate into progress for Shazam!, but what is encouraging is that Peter Segal remains attached to direct – which hopefully means that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will still play Black Adam, Captain Marvel’s villainous counterpart.
