As you must know by now, this Friday (technically, this Thursday at Midnight), The Dark Knight Rises roars into theatres, bringing to an end Christopher Nolan’s trilogy of Batman films, and pitting the Caped Crusader against Bane and Catwoman.
The film, directed by Christopher Nolan, and starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt brings an end to an epic that began with Batman Begins.
Let’s watch the trailer one more time, shall we?
Pretty cool, right?
But, as Rainbow Dash would say…
The Hub, home to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, as well as the current home of Batman: The Animated Series clearly has said “Challenge accepted.” This Friday, July 20, in time with the opening of The Dark Knight Rises, The Hub is running a Batman: The Animated Series marathon from 4:00-9:00 p.m.
And they’ve given us a trailer.
I can’t quite tell if they had the voice actors come in and record new dialogue, or if they pieced the dialogue together from older tracks, but honestly, I don’t care. This is awesome, and epic, and I think I’m looking forward to it more than I am to seeing the movie.
The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan and concludes his Batman trilogy of films. Christian Bale stars as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Tom Hardy is Bane, Anne Hathaway plays Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Marion Cotillard is Miranda Tate (and possibly Talia al-Ghul), Joseph Gordon-Levitt is John Blake, Michael Caine returns as Alfred, Gary Oldman reprises the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Morgan Freeman is back as Lucius Fox. The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theatres July 20, 2012.
Batman: The Animated Series is simply the best Batman cartoon ever made. Created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, the animated series starred the voice of Kevin Conroy as Batman, Henry Silva is Bane, Adrienne Barbeau plays Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Helen Slater is Talia, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. returns as Alfred, Bob Hastings reprises the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Brock Peters is back as Lucius Fox. Batman: The Animated Series ran from 1992-1995.

Love it!
