This match-up is kind of a strange one. First off, The Thing, while he is a part of the Avengers, is really more a member of the FF – as seen by the costume he’s wearing in this image. Secondly, at the moment, Colossus is the Juggernaut, meaning that poor Ben shouldn’t have a chance! But what I really love about this shot is the fact that both The Thing and Colossus are consistently among the “mid-range” bricks of the Marvel Universe. Oh, sure, they’re both amazingly strong and resilient. But they don’t hold a candle to the Hulk or Thor in terms of strength. And there’s the obvious parallel in the mineral-based nature of their abilities.
