The last few Activision-created Spider-Man games have tended towards a more linear approach than the Spider-Man games which had originally put Activision on the map with a free-roaming environment. But it seems like the movie tie-in for The Amazing Spider-Man is returning to the free-roaming style, as revealed in this teaser which aired during the Spike TV Video Game Awards this past weekend.
As you’ll notice, the game shows Oscorp robots gone wild, along with highlighting which of Spidey’s powers will be included in the game. The teaser doesn’t give us any hint as to which villains will appear, but expect plenty of familiar faces. And since it is a movie tie-in, I’d be very surprised if Curt Connors’ scaly alter-ego doesn’t appear.
The Amazing Spider-Man should hit consoles in July of 2012.
