Alright, seriously, this mysterious Thor casting has got to stop. Yesterday, we found out that Robert De Niro and Jude Law had joined the cast, thanks to a statement by Matthias Schweighofer when he was discussing his own auditioning for the film. Today, thanks to an interview with Movieline, Dominic Cooper has revealed (accidentally) that he had been approached for a role in Thor, specifically that of Fandral the Dashing, a member of the Warriors Three.

Why is Marvel not getting out in front of making these announcements?

But there is a silver lining to these surprise leaked casting announcements – they start to paint a picture together. We had no idea what characters De Niro, Law or Schweighofer were up for, but if we know that the Warriors Three are a part of the film, that directly opens some possibilities. If Cooper is up for the role of Fandral, it’s also possible (or even probable), that Schweighofer is auditioning for the same role. And De Niro would make a perfect fit for Hogun the Grim.
