Filed under the “It’s About Time” category, Joss Whedon has finally won an Emmy. SCI FI Wire reports that this past Saturday, Whedon and company won the Emmy Award for “Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs” at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmys for the innovative Web musical, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

This award is vindication for Whedon fans who have watched as the creator’s programs have been ignored time and again, with his only other nomination coming from the episode “Hush” from Buffy the Vampire Slayer – which lost to an episode of The West Wing.

From the moment it first appeared online, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog charmed fans with it’s tale of a down-on-his-luck supervillain, played brilliantly by Neil Patrick Harris, and his attempts to woo the girl of his dreams (Felicia Day), while battling his nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion).

We here at Comic Hero News are beyond thrilled at the recognition Whedon and everyone involved with Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog have received here.
