Batwoman Visits Wonderland in Detective Comics 855

It may be true that there are better written stories in the Batman world than the current Batwoman storyline in Detective Comics. (I can’t think of any off the top of my head, but it might, in theory, be possible.) But I don’t think it’s at all possible that there is a more beautifully illustrated one. The second issue of the “Elegy” story from Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams III has Batwoman capturing the madwoman known as Alice – but shortly in, the tables are turned and Kate is the one who finds herself trapped in a deadly Wonderland.
If Rucka and company handle this correctly, Alice could easily become Batwoman’s version of The Joker. And that wouldn’t be a bad thing at all.
But enough from me! Thanks to DC Universe: The Source, check out the first few pages of Detective Comics 855 below! The issue goes on sale July 29, 2009.
